HOW/WHEN/WHERE DID THE PROPOSAL HAPPEN?
He proposed to me in Zanzibar in 2017!
On a Dhow when we were out for a sundowner and dinner on the Dhow.
I had no clue! Because I had checked all his bags he was very good at hiding this! I was so surprised! I almost fell off the Dhow! But here we are, 4 years down with a baby girl in our arms! Chirag and I Married in December 2017 and Norah have been our dream come true!!!
WHEN IT COMES TO CAREER, WHAT DO BOTH OF YOU DO?
Chirag is a mining and construction engineer while I’m a humanitarian worker working in the field of innovations for a humanitarian organization in Kenya. We are both passionate about the environment and promote a less waste lifestyle, and we want to teach Norah the same.
HOW YOU ENVISION YOUR MATERNITY SESSION, STYLE, THEME, VIBE?
I envisioned my maternity session to be very colorful and vibrant. A dress that flows well just like my pregnancy, nice and smooth. A location that is beautiful with the best of both worlds: land and sea. A day where the sun is at its best shining upon us and the breeze reminding us how beautiful the smell of nature is. We got all this during my maternity shoot and a photographer was part of the entire journey! From helping us select the venue to the outfits to the shot ideas!! My pregnancy journey was so positive and full of happy days with a very supportive husband by my side.
WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH LOLA LISHA PHOTOGRAPHY?
Our experience was lots of fun, capturing natural moments and also showing our love. And Lola did just that!!! She was so much fun to work with and so energetic! Up for all our ideas and suggestions adding some great ideas of hers too!! Oh, and not forgetting how she made sure we got the most from the sunset!
AND YOUR BEST ADVICE FOR FUTURE PARENTS?
To future parents. This is a dream come true! Maternity shoots to capture your pregnancy moments that you will relive every time you open that album! Trust me it will mean the world to you when you view them years after your child was born.
Choose a theme that expresses your pregnancy journey. Colors that you feel, describe you. Let the photos tell a story for you!
For me, the bubbles added the touch. I want to be in a bubble with my baby always, and when the bubble bursts, we will sparkle and shine! Because that is parenthood!
